Rotorua Lakes Council accepted the commissioner's recommendations on the plan change and submissions to the consultation.
Thank you for taking the time to have your say. This plan change is fully operative as of 26 August 2019.
At the Council’s meeting on the 13th of December 2018, Council voted to adopt the Commissioners Recommendations on Plan Change 5: Signage and Miscellaneous Changes.
The proposed rules and performance standards had legal effect alongside the existing provisions as of the 22nd of December 2018.
📝About this plan change
The purpose of this Plan Change is to make some minor additions and miscellaneous changes to the Rotorua District Plan and a number of alterations to the sign provisions across all zone chapters of the Plan and in Appendix 8. It also makes a number of minor additions and alterations to the provisions of the Plan to:
- Remove redundant provisions or duplications.
- Provide greater clarity for the provisions and improve implementation (allowance for sponsorship signs and non-site related community information signs).
- Align conflicting rules relating to status.
- Include matters over which the Plan reserves control or restricts discretion.
- Align provisions with objectives and policies, including some new objectives and policies for signs.
