Decision Reached

4 April 2021

Following public consultation in 2020, the decision was made by elected members to construct minor safety features along Marguerita Street as a way to improve safety for pedestrians, people using mobility devices, motorists, residents and businesses, while keeping the flow of traffic along the corridor unobstructed.

These safety features included:

  • A pedestrian crossing
  • Kerb build outs constructed within the road shoulder to allow residents to exit their driveways safely without affecting the flow of traffic
  • Additional ‘slow zone’ marking on the road at either end of the residential area.

In addition, improvements were made to the existing bus stops.
