Vision 2030 - The Rotorua Way primary school teaching units helped create a future of active, engaged citizens.

Rotorua Lakes Council developed these resources to help schools deliver engaging activities designed to encourage students' understanding and enthusiasm for participating in their community and the consultation process.

All units were aligned with the vision, principles, values and key competencies of Levels 2 and 3 the New Zealand Curriculum and linked to the social sciences learning area.

The material was flexible for different levels. Teachers were encouraged to adapt the sequence of learning activities to meet the specific needs and experiences of their students.
